Oconee Community Works is a non-partisan community-service organization. We are affiliated with the National Community Works group, which is based in Virginia and is itself and outgrowth of the Rural Urban Bridge Initiative (RUBI). There are now Community Works chapters all over the US.
Oconee Community Works Chapter formed in April, 2025 after attending a RUBI workshop which featured a presentation on Community Works. We saw the value that a volunteer organization could bring in building relationships and trust across political differences by working together to address local needs in rural counties across America. Simply put, we are just a group of people who want to make a difference in our community. We partner with local non-profits and provide them with more help and willing hands. We have also launched some of our own projects and will continue to do so. Check out What We Do for more details.
